  • All About Mobile Domain Names Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 25, 2012

When the Internet first came out it was restricted to a wired connection to a computer. Eventually technology improved, creating wireless Internet. At that point the Internet could be accessible through desktops, laptops and mobile devices without wiring. This means that the Internet was now portable. And as more mobile devices are getting created, consumers are exploring how to increase this portability. In fact, wireless Internet has gotten so popular with mobile devices, domain name companies have created a new extension. It’s called.mobi.

.Mobi is the extension of choice for websites that are being formatted for cell phones, pdas and other mobile devices. It can be bought from most major domain name companies such as Godaddy or Network Solutions. As far as registering a.mobi domain name, one would go through the same type of procedure that is associated with traditional domain names. This involves first choosing a.mobi domain name and seeing if it is available.

If it is not available, the domain name company will offer suggestions on what a person can use. Either way, the customer will be given another chance to select another.mobi domain name. Once they get one that is not taken, they can proceed to purchase it. The contract will last one to two years, depending on what they agreed upon with the domain name company. When the contract is up, a person will have to renew their.mobi domain name if they want to continue to keep it.

So, why would a webmaster decide to invest in a domain name that is restricted to mobile devices? Well, it’s mainly because they get an opportunity to center in on a market that is relatively new. Since most webmasters or companies are trying to take advantage of the.coms or the.nets, the.mobi has become somewhat forgotten. This means that it is prime for search engine keywords that would normally not be available for traditional domain names. It can also allow a webmaster a branding opportunity for their company.

However, since a.mobi domain name means a webmaster is creating a website specially designed for a mobile phone, it cannot have the types of frills that it could have if it was being promoted on a computer. Good mobile websites need to be mostly textual with very limited number of pics, (if any). Granted, plain text is not fancy, but it doesn’t require much loading time. Mobile phone sites should also not be very large nor should they be created with frames or other more complicated layouts.

A webmaster may also want to consider trying to divert the mobile website visitor to a regular website. One way this can be done is by advertising the domain name that is associated with a traditional website. But it must be made clear that the site will only display appropriately on regular computers. Another option is trying to capture the person’s email address by offering them something free, such as an e-book or low-cost merchandise.

When they sign up to the email subscription, their first newsletter could advertise the traditional website a webmaster wants promoted. By doing either of these options, webmasters can still take advantage of pay-per-clicks or affiliate programs, revenue generators which may not be promoted on.mobi websites due to viewing limitations with banner or text ads.

How to Start Domain Name Investment Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 22, 2012

A valuable domain name is like a potential share, which can appreciate at any time. In a time which internet and e-commerce become mainstream, valuable domain names are latent till their masters discover them. However, pearls are everywhere, not the same as the eyes. Many domain name investment opportunities are lost in vain.

How to invest a valuable domain name and make it appreciate? The answer is that you have to possess the ability to recognize the worth of the valuable domain name. However, it is not an easy job and you have to start with the following steps:

Basic domain name knowledge can not be ignored. It is widely agreed that in turns of domain name, the shorter the better. Simple combinations of numbers and letters are easy to remember, and are visited more frequently. The first impression is crucial for interpersonal relationships, so is domain name investigation. If a domain name is unforgettable and meaningful to investors, it is definitely has the potential to appreciate. Meanwhile, if a domain name is related to certain business by appearance, and can connect with the company name and trademark into a perfect CI (corporate identify) logo, it is absolutely worth investment.

Domain name speculation is also of great use for its appreciation. You can speculate on popular stuffs, and keep pace with latest trend of your business. Such as low carbon, cloud computing, IOT (internet of things), WSN (wireless sensor network, etc.) are worth of investment.

Domain name investors should also pay attention to well-known domain names and register related ones for appreciation.

Numeric domain names also have significant investment space.

Anyway, no matter domain name investment or registration, you have to recognize its potential value with strategic vision. If a valuable domain name falls on the hands of someone who can not recognize its value, it will lose its original commercial value. Therefore, you should try to make a valuable domain name achieve its ultimate value by recognizing its value in the first place and trade it on the market.

How to make SEO article! we have some good tips for you Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 22, 2012

    1. Keep it Short – Limit your article to less than 1000 words. A long paragraph without breaks is boring. Best is to put things in short points (like the one you are reading :) ) else you can break the article into small units, making the articles reader friendly. If its any longer consider break it into two posts.

    2. Reliable Data – Give links to authoritative domains like wikipedia when quoting facts. Don’t give outbound links to spam my non authoritative sites. Mention reliable sources you used to collect the data for help visit http://www.greatseosecrets.com. Always give credit to original authors. In return you might even get a link back :) . Check out one such article – 51 interesting facts about silver – that follows this for example.

    3. Classic simple layout of content – Introduction, main content, and finally the summary. Keep it simple.

    4. Choose Keywords before writing: Before you write any article think of keywords you are targeting as you write SEO friendly article (hint). Use the keywords in your article title (see the title of this article is Top 10 Tips to write SEO friendly article), start your article with mention of keyword in the beginning of the sentence. Search Engines just love this.

    5. Multiplicity of Keyword: Use your keywords multiple times in your SEO friendly Article (see I used it again :) ) Use in title, headlines of sections, and in sentences. Don’t abuse it though.

    6. Keyword Positioning – In your SEO friendly article try to have the keyword used at least two times http://www.the20seotools.com. Best places to use are the beginning of sentence and at end of paragraph sentence. In addition try using the keyword as the first word of the first paragraph, as well as the last word of the article, can be even more effective(as an example see this article – Notice the first and last sentence in article both have SEO friendly article keyword)

    7. Don’t be greedy, Give out good links – After writing your article injects it with interesting links at appropriate places. Counter intuitive face – You may even give a link to your competitor here (of course use reel=”no follow”), but the point is that the article is for your readers not you. It should make a complete read for them. You will get more digs, readers, subscribers doing this.

    8. Write article for readers not search engines – Don’t abuse the tips in this article. Write for users not for search engines. Keep the reader engaged (I just hope you have reached till here;))

    9. Choosing right Title – If you are editing in HTML then give utmost attention to title. Title must contain keyword. Insert appropriate keywords in Meta keyword. In Meta ‘Description’, write about two sentences which describe briefly your article and contain the keyword at least once.

    10. be original – Use your own innovative ideas and knowledge. Update your articles whenever you find new things.

Get Traffic with Expired Domain Names Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 21, 2012

One of the greatest difficulties in being a new webmaster is trying to acquire traffic. This is because trying to build legitimate traffic requires both time and money. How is this so? Well, if a webmaster is trying to obtain traffic through search engines, they will need to spend a great deal of time with link-building and content creation. If they are trying to get traffic through a pay-per-click program, they will have to invest hundreds to thousands of dollars if they want to take advantage of a high-performance keyword. However, there is another alternative that can allow a webmaster to get tons of traffic without having to invest too much in time or money. It involves purchasing exp. domain name.

What is an exp. domain name? An expired domain name is a domain name that never got renewed by its owner. This could be for a variety of reasons such as disinterest in the original website, lack of funds or something more serious, such as an owner’s death. Whatever the reason when the renewal fees aren’t paid, the expired domain name sits out in cyberspace still functioning as any other domain name. There is just one difference… an lost domain name doesn’t have a website attached to it, so it instead points to a 404 error page.

Indeed, it is a waste of traffic when an unlong term domain name points to a 404 web page. Many domain name companies have realized this, which is why quite a few sell not used domain name either through a regular, upfront sale or through an expire domain name auction. The prices for these names of domain can range from less than $100 to over $1 million. Some of these sales may even include a website.

So, how does a webmaster know if an expired name is worth buying? First, they need to check to see the Google page rank of an expire name. To do this they need to download Google’s toolbar and then type in the URL of the exp name. The toolbar will then let them know what the page rank is. If the page rank indicator is gray, the not used name must be avoided since this means the site has been banned by Google. Otherwise, it should be okay, though webmasters should also take into consideration the actual number associated with the page rank. If the number is between 6 and 10, they should strongly consider buying the loss domain name.
Secondly, webmasters need to find out the Alexa rating of an expired domain name. The Alexa rating determines how much traffic has actually gone to a domain name. If a website has not received a significant amount of traffic, it will not have an Alexa rating. To determine the Alexa rating for an exp, webmasters need to visit Alexa.com.

Finally, webmasters need to see how many websites are linking to the expired. To do this they need to put the command link: followed by the URL of the expired domain name into a search engine. If a lot of links are returned, this is a sign that the traffic coming to the old domain name originated from legitimate sources. may you can read more about javahostindo web hosting indonesia

The Most Expensive Domain Name In History Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 20, 2012

Has everybody heard of this young entrepreneur, Andres Kello?

He’s the guy trying to break the World Record for the most expensive Domain name ever.

Price Tag? How about 12 million plus one dollar. From the proceeds of the sale, at least $4,000,001.00 is pledged to charity. Another $4 million is promised to be given away to his supporters.

The official record is held by Business.com at $7.5 million.
The unofficial record stands at $12 million and reportedly is credited to Sex.com. Imagine that!

Mr. Kello believes that the sell of his Domain name is a small price to pay compared with the fees that some big businesses pay for 30 and 60 second ads on Super Bowl Sunday. He thinks once the sale is made, the media will be flooded with reports. Everyone will log in to see what this site has to offer and who finally decided to take a chance with that kind of advertising dollar.
He may have a vailid point. I’m curious right now, and maybe just a little jealous that I didn’t think of such a great idea. I love the charity factor that he has woven into this project, even though with that kind of money, I think he should commit at least half of the sale proceeds. Either way, it’s a big gift and I’m sure many people will benefit. Mr. Kello also claims that he will not just quit and walk away with his small fortune, but will continue to come up with bigger and better ideas to top this project.

I hope this thing really does happen. Maybe this idea will fuel the rockets in all our brains to propel more thoughts to new highs and make this world a better, safer, and more peaceful environment for our generation and those that will exist many years from now!

Understanding the fundamentals of Domain Name Registration Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 19, 2012

The power of internet has evolved over the years as a tool for progress. It is time to utilize it as a host rather than a passive user. It is time to acknowledge how appreciably this knowledge can shape our lives.

One of the many vital aspects of internet is “Domain Name Registration“. One must understand the concept optimally to use the internet power, as it alone opens infinite possibilities for you to capitalize on.

Domain name is a website name that we enter in the address bar to explore the intended website. Also known as the ‘hostname’, it serves as the identity of any accessible destination on the internet. A domain name refers to the name preceded by http:// or www in any URL. For example, the domain names in URLs like http://www.xyz123xyz.com and http://xyz123xyz.edu are xyz123xyz.com and xyz123xyz.edu, respectively.

A Domain Name may ideally consist of numerals (0-9), alphabets (a-z) and hyphen (-), so to allow memorable names, wider options and higher recall capacity. It is understood by the Domain Name System (DNS) through a unique IP (Internet Protocol) address, which is a 32 bit binary code. IP address is decoded by the system to find a website’s exact location on the internet.

The extension in any domain name varies on the basis of the nature of field specialization and location. Some of the commonly used extensions are.edu,.com,.org, standing for education, commercial and organization, respectively. Further, a domain name registration of Australia may have.au as an extension, as in http://www.xyz123xyz.edu.au.

Domain Name Registration as such is fairly easy. First you decide on some Domain Names for your website. Then the same are checked for availability on the internet by simply exploring them through the address bar. If the desired domain name is available, it can be bought by any of the Domain Name Registrar, or commonly known as ‘Server Site’. Domain Name Registrars are those who have space for supporting your web portal on the internet and also have accreditation from the international body – Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and/ or by national ccTLD authority.

To conclude, Domain Registration can be done with various extensions depending upon your requirement and availability. It can be purchased from any of these registrars by paying the initial fee over the internet. Once the Domain Name has been purchased, it means that hostname is reserved for your use and you can make your website and upload it on the address.

Domain Name Registration Made Easy Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 17, 2012

If you want to be taken seriously as an online presence, domain name registration is a necessity. You can choose a name and register it through many different domain name registrars, but from there it can get tricky. The original registrar will create a record on its domain servers to tell other computers where to find your website address. Once you choose a web hosting company, you’ll have to get the DNS record switched over to your new host, which can be confusing if you’ve never done it before.

The easier way is to choose a web hosting company and register for a web hosting account that includes a free domain name registration as part of the account package. Registering a new domain – especially registering your first domain – that way streamlines the process so that you don’t have to worry about switching name servers and adjusting the records – the web hosting company does it all for you. You just tell them your desired domain name and the tech folks at the company will do the rest.

Before you take the plunge, though, be sure to ask the web host whether they register the domain name under your name or theirs. Some companies register all domains under their own name, which can become a problem if you’re dissatisfied with your hosting experience and decide to move your website to another host. When the domain name is registered in your name, you control where the site is hosted. If the web hosting company registers it under their own name, they hold the control. If you want to move your site to another host, you may have to pay for them to release it. If you’ve spent time building up your web site visibility, or have invested in advertising materials that feature your website address, it can feel like your domain is being held hostage. Avoid the issue altogether by asking up front what their policy is when a customer wants to move a domain registered through them to another hosting company.

In addition to control of your own domain name, you should look for a number of other features in a web hosting company. Find a host that offers a full package, including storage, email servers, databases and easy installation of blogs, photo albums, content management systems and other popular website features – all for one low, monthly price. Avoid a la carte packages, which may seem lower at first glance but charge you extra for basics like email servers, blog setup, databases and access to applications like blogs, content management systems, photo albums and email forwarders.

While you’re at it, choose a web hosting company that allows you to host multiple domains under one hosting account. Once you understand how easy it is to set up your own website, you may decide that you need more than one. While most hosts only include one free domain name with a web hosting account, many will allow you to add additional domains and host other websites on your account. In most cases, you can register a domain name through any registrar and host it on your current account at no additional cost.

5 Quick Ways to Choose a Good Domain Name Posted in domain name exchange by admin - Apr 15, 2012

Often when it comes to choosing a domain name, people are confused about how to get started.

What is the best way to choose a domain name that gets the most impact? Is shorter name better? Does it have to be keyword rich? The list goes on…

Here are 5 quick tips to help you choose a domain name.

    1. Short and simple. I’ve seen others who register for 4- to 6-word domain names. Not only that it’s hard to remember, but it’s very hard to spell to others too. This is a no-no. I prefer short and simple names.

    2. Keywords if possible, brand name otherwise. There’s no rule that says your domain name must be keyword rich to rank well on search engines. It has its benefits though. When people heard of a keyword rich domain name, they immediately know what the site is about. However, look at Google. It’s has strong and memorable brand. If you can’t get short and clean domain name with keywords in it, use your brand name instead.

    3. Hyphenated names? No. Again the benefit of keyword-rich domain for search engine rankings is not very significant nowadays, if at all. It is also hard to spell to others.

    4. Register variations. If you are to build an authority site that gets a lot of people to you site, you may want to register different variations of the domain name, such as the plural and singular forms, misspelling, etc. so when people enter it directly in the address bar of the browser, they are redirected to the right site.

    5. Easy to spell. At times, you may want to tell others about your domain via telephone, in the radio or during a teleseminar. If you can’t say your domain name quickly then it can be a turn off for the audience.

While getting a good name for your site is important, there are a lot of other things that you need to focus on before you start make money from the site.

By all means spend time to choose a domain name, but don’t waste to much time in it. Make progress instead.
